Limerick City and County Council has announced that all over-the-counter Motor Taxation services in Limerick will be provided from its offices in Dooradoyle and Newcastle West from mid-July onwards
The announcement has been made following the re-location of the Motor Tax Office at Lissanalta House to the Council Offices, Dooradoyle earlier this month and the scheduled ending of over-the-counter motor tax services at Merchants Quay in Limerick from Friday 10July at 4.00pm. Support will continue be provided in Merchant’s Quay from Monday, 13 July to ensure that all sectors of the community will be catered for.
The announcement follows a survey showing that the majority of vehicle owners across Limerick are now completing their motor tax business online.Kong: Skull Island live streaming film
“This growing trend ties in with ongoing nationwide efforts to encourage customers and businesses to move away from cheque and cash payments,” explained Tom Gilligan, Director of Finance, Motor Tax and ICT.
“The increased use of online services has enabled the Limerick Motor Tax Department to keep waiting times at Dooradoyle and Newcastle West to a minimum during 2015. Waiting times could be further reduced by members of the public choosing to use our online tax service which is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.motortax.ie. Customers can, if they so wish, post their applications to the Motor Tax Department, Council Buildings, Dooradoyle, Limerick,” added Mr. Gilligan.
Meanwhile, the Council says that the Motor Tax offices in Dooradoyle and Newcastle West have extended the opening hours from 9.15am-4pm, Monday to Friday (closed Bank Holiday Mondays).
