The O’Malleys and John Steele Album Launch
The O’Malleys have been playing together for almost 40 years and the band boasts some of the best musicians Limerick has produced. The range of instruments and influences brought to the group by each individual member are credited as that which gives the band it’s very unique sound.
Their current line-up has been together for over twenty years and the members are Peter Donnelly, AKA Peter O’Malley, guitar and vocals; Ger Costelloe, guitar, vocals and congos; Dave Keary, electric and acoustic guitars, vocals, lap steel guitar, dobro and bouzouki; James Hanley piano, hammond organ and keyboards; Ralf Lindheim, bass guitar; Eddie Clancy drums and percussion ,guitars, mandolin, bouzouki and harmonica. This is definitely not a night to be missed for all Limerick music lovers.
John Steele is a well known Limerick musician, playing guitar in many local bands over the years, including Tumbledown, Fall Dogs and The Joe Browne Band. He recently gained more national recognition as one quarter of Limerick band The Flag Listeners. The band received extensive national and international airplay and very positive reviews for their 2017 release, And Other Short Stories. Hot Press described the album as a “masterclass in songwriting”. John wrote three of the songs on that album and co-wrote a fourth with Eamonn Hehir.
