I’m planning on buying the new Kindle 3. I know that e-ink displays can keep something on the screen even though there is no power to it… and I’m wondering if the Kindle does that? What I mean is will it show a screen before it turns off and then stay there until it is turned on again, like the Kobo reader? Or does
it just go blank?
NONE says
The screen will be blank on any device if it’s actually turned off. The screensavers only display when the device is sleeping. Most devices recommend that you only put them to sleep rather than turning them off and it takes no power to maintain the screensaver image on an e-ink device.
